On December 3, 2019, in Stara Planina, the Forum for Youth with Disabilities, in cooperation with the National Employment Service, organized a one-day workshop for advisers to the National Employment Service. The workshop was aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of employment counselors for persons with disabilities in the field of work with persons with disabilities in the recruitment process.

The workshop was attended by 33 NES employees from 26 branches in Serbia.

Participants had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of the working abilities and functioning of persons with disabilities in their daily activities, ways of communicating with persons with different types of disabilities, and to get acquainted with examples of good practice in the context of working with persons with disabilities.

At the very beginning, the participants emphasized the great importance of innovating the knowledge needed for their work, as well as the need for mutual exchange of experiences. During the workshop, everyone actively participated, discussions were lively and openly presented their problems, as well as examples of how they were solved.

The workshop was organized within the project “Support to strengthening the institutional capacities of the NES in the process of employment of persons with disabilities”, implemented by the Forum of Youth with Disabilities, with the support of the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Team of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. The project is financially supported by the Government of Switzerland under the project “Support to the Implementation of the Employment and Social Policy Reform Program in the Republic of Serbia with a Focus on Youth Employment and Employment Policy”, which is part of the wider Knowledge to Work program.
